Zach Wilcox helps North Carolinians compare Medicare plans from multiple carriers and find the right coverage — at no additional cost to you.
Whether you're turning 65 or reviewing your current plan, Wilcox Financial Brokerage is in your corner.
All-in-one plans that bundle hospital, medical, and often drug coverage. We compare plans from multiple carriers to help find what fits your doctors and budget.
Fill the gaps in Original Medicare. We compare Plans G, N, and more so you're never surprised by out-of-pocket costs.
Your prescriptions matter. We analyze your drug list against available plans to help find your lowest total cost. The 2026 $2,100 out-of-pocket cap is a game-changer.
Plans change every year. We review your coverage each fall during Open Enrollment (Oct. 15 – Dec. 7) and flag anything that could cost you more.
Confused about when to sign up? We walk you through enrollment windows and help you avoid costly late penalties.
Questions don't stop after enrollment. Zach is available by call or text for claims help, billing issues, or any Medicare questions down the road.
Share your doctors, prescriptions, and priorities. No paperwork, no pressure — just an honest conversation about your needs.
Zach reviews plans from multiple organizations to find options that fit your health and budget — not just one carrier's lineup.
We enroll you, confirm everything, and remain available as your plan evolves. Annual reviews included.

Medicare covers a lot — but not everything. Zach also helps clients fill the remaining gaps with supplemental plans tailored to their lifestyle and budget.
Insurance isn't just my career — it's my family's legacy. I grew up watching my family help people navigate complex coverage decisions with honesty and care, and I've carried that same commitment into my own practice. With over a decade of experience in the insurance industry, I bring both deep knowledge and a genuine passion for getting people the right coverage.
I founded Wilcox Financial Brokerage to make Medicare simple. Not simplified to the point of being unhelpful — but truly clear, straightforward, and tailored to you. As an independent broker, I represent multiple carriers and compare your real options side by side. There's no pressure, no agenda, and no fine print hidden from you.
My clients trust me because I treat every conversation the way I'd treat one with my own family: with honesty, patience, and a commitment to getting it right. When you work with me, you get a licensed professional who picks up the phone, knows your situation, and stays in your corner long after enrollment day.
Call Zach DirectlyWhen you call, you get Zach — not a voicemail system, not a call center, not an assistant. A real conversation with the person who knows your situation.
Every fall before Open Enrollment, Zach proactively reaches out to review your plan. You shouldn't have to remember to call — that's his job.
As an independent broker, Zach has no incentive to push one carrier over another. Every recommendation is based on your doctors, your drugs, and your budget.
No alphabet soup. No fine print surprises. Zach explains your coverage in plain terms so you know exactly what you're getting — and what you're not.
Don't let the alphabet soup intimidate you. Here's a clear breakdown of how Medicare works and what your options are for the 2026 plan year.
Covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice, and some home health care. Most people pay no monthly premium for Part A if they've worked at least 40 quarters and paid Medicare taxes.
Covers doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services, and durable medical equipment. The standard 2026 Part B premium is $202.90/month. Higher-income individuals may pay a higher premium based on their income. The 2026 annual deductible is $257.
Plans from private insurers approved by Medicare that bundle Parts A and B (usually Part D too). Extra benefits vary by plan and location. Not all plans are available in all areas — contact Zach to compare what's available in your county.
Standalone drug coverage added to Original Medicare. A major 2026 change: out-of-pocket costs for covered Part D drugs are now capped at $2,100/year. Each plan has its own formulary. Costs and coverage vary by plan and your specific medications.

Medicare enrollment has strict deadlines. Missing them can mean permanent penalties you'll pay for life. This guide walks you through every step so you don't miss a thing.
Think of this as your personal Medicare roadmap, starting 6 months before your 65th birthday.
This is the best time to speak with an independent broker like Zach. You'll learn what Original Medicare covers, whether Medicare Advantage or Medigap fits better, and how your current doctors and prescriptions affect your choice.
Your 7-month enrollment window opens 3 months before your birthday month. This is when you can sign up for Medicare Part A and Part B. Don't wait — enrolling early means coverage starts on your birthday month.
If you enrolled during the first 3 months of your IEP, coverage starts the 1st of your birthday month. You should receive your red, white, and blue Medicare card in the mail. Keep it safe — you'll need it.
3 months after your birthday month, your Initial Enrollment Period ends. If you miss it without a qualifying Special Enrollment Period (SEP), you may face permanent late enrollment penalties on both Part B and Part D.
Every year during AEP, you can review and switch your Medicare Advantage or Part D plan. Plans change every year — and so do your needs. Zach will contact you before every AEP to make sure you're still in the best plan.
These errors are expensive and often permanent. Knowing them in advance is half the battle.
Your 7-month Initial Enrollment Period doesn't reset. Miss it without a qualifying SEP and you could pay a late penalty on your Part B premium for the rest of your life on Medicare.
If you go 63+ consecutive days without creditable drug coverage, you'll owe a permanent Part D late penalty when you eventually need prescriptions. A low-cost plan protects you now.
Choosing Medicare Advantage when your doctors aren't in-network — or choosing a Medigap plan with the wrong coverage level — can mean unexpected bills or loss of access to your care team.
Calling a single insurance company only shows you their plans. An independent broker like Zach compares multiple carriers side by side so you see all your real options.
Use this as your step-by-step guide — or book a free appointment and Zach will walk through every item with you.
